TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I lived and work in Valencia, Spain for 3 years teaching English in a private setting. I have taught Spanish at the high school level for the past six years. I have taught all levels from Spanish 1 to AP and currently teach AP Spanish Language and Culture and level 3. I have been an AP Reader for the past 3 years and have graded both the speaking and writing sections.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My classroom is very communicative and practical which promotes my students to use their language skills outside the classroom as well. My lessons are organized thematically and reflect essential questions. I incorporate a lot of comprehensible input and 21st century learning opportunities for my students using authentic materials. I subscribe to the ACTFL proficiency levels and incorporate the 3 modes of communication throughout my activities (interpretive, presentational and interpersonal). Similarly, the 5Cs are threaded throughout my lessons with a central focus on culture, communication and comparisons.
