TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught 8th grade science since 2001, with curriculum including Earth Science, Physical Science, and Science Research. I am gifted and ESOL certified and have taught science classes for both. I have presented staff development sessions and shared strategies from my classroom at the local, district, and state level. I have served as the science coordinator for my school, as well as team leader and mentor teacher. Prior to teaching in a school, I worked for 6 years as a traveling science presenter with High Touch High Tech, a hands-on, in-class field trip company. While employed there, I helped develop new programming as the curriculum coordinator.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I try to be very hands-on and use a lot of inquiry-based and problem-based learning in my classroom. I also love to use games and technology to help reinforce the content for my students.
