Even though I have not had much teaching experience, I have learned a great deal from the experiences that I have had. I student taught in a 9th grade class as well as a 12th grade class. I also was able to assist in other classes as well. Currently I have been subbing for middle school as well as high school. I not only have been able to sub in my content area (math), but as well as other subjects. I also tutor students when I have time. I have been tutoring since 2008 and love the experiences that I have had with each and every single student.
My teaching style is not concrete at the moment. I enjoy teaching students using a traditional teaching approach, but also find enjoyment with students working in groups. I have found it helpful when students use manipulatives and can relate to the content.

I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 7 years old. My 2nd grade teacher was the one that initially inspired me. That inspiration developed over the years along with my passion for mathematics. I was able to put the two passions together and received my Bachelor's Degree from St. John's University. My degree is in Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics along with a minor in International Studies. Currently I am pursuing my Master's Degree in Students with Disabilities 7-12, Generalist. I anticipate on completing my degree in May 2017. I am also completing what is called the Middle-School Extension in which I can expand my certification to grades 5 and 6.
