I have taught four years of Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 at the middle-school level in central Virginia. I've served as a World Langauge Department Chair and helped with curriculum and exam development for my school division. I currently work in training and professional development.
I teach a learner-centered class based on the ACTFL proficiency guidelines. I love utilizing technology in the classroom as a way to build 21st century learners, make authentic cultural resources accessible, and bring my students' learning to a greater audience. I also believe in the higher-level thinking and ownership that comes with project-based learning. Technology and PBL are tools that help me focus on the end-goal of improving student communication and cultural awareness with a positive, engaging, and welcoming classroom environment.
