TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Prior to having my son, I taught 12 years in the public school system(1990-2002). My teaching experience is in 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Along with my professional teaching experience, I have also trained and performed improvisational comedy professionally for 10 years. I continue to "teach" by being a substitute teacher at my son's school (grades K-8).

MY TEACHING STYLE

It's sort of a "Dewey Finn meets Mrs. Frizzle meets Mr. Miyagi" style. With a lot of snacks thrown in.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My son thinks I'm the "best mom ever". :)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a B.S. in Elementary Education from Southeast Missouri State University. Interestingly,at some point, the comedy training became more valuable in the classroom than my degree. My parents are overjoyed with this fact.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I teach people how to find things at thrift stores and garage sales and "flip" them into extra cash at www.latenight-coffee.com I also have three stores on Etsy and my own website store for collectible books and patterns.
