Laura Altmaier

Currently I work at Villa Montessori School as a first, second, and third grade teacher. This is my tenth year at Villa. I hold an Arizona K-8 Teaching Certificate, a Montessori 6-9 Certification and have my Masters in Education.

My main focus in the classroom is helping the children find balance in their learning. I will stress this balance daily as they choose their own work. My goal for each child is that they reach their fullest potential while exploring every area of the curriculum. I feel that a balanced classroom should be a safe, fun, exciting and caring environment for the children. Working together I believe we can achieve this balance and provide an exceptional learning environment for the children.

Prior to teaching I was a graphic designer. I love creating new materials for my Montessori classroom. I have three children of my own and one grandchild. All of my children attending Montessori schools starting in the toddler program.
