I had the unique opportunity in college to be in the classroom every year. My Junior year I spent two semesters with a 4th grade class, and my Senior year was spent in a full year internship in kindergarten. I also had the chance to teach in London for a month. Upon graduating, I found myself in a 2nd grade position. After two years, I looped with my class (so fun!), and then spend four years in 3rd grade. This is my first year in 1st grade!
I loved doing projects where the students are creating things themselves. I was always a hands-on learner, and I find my teaching style reflects that. I also like to get my students up and moving! Center, grouping, carpet, etc. I try to incorporate various styles to meet my students needs.
I was chosen twice for the superintendent's breakfast (only eligible every 3 years), which is selected through peer nominations.
I attended Texas Tech for a year, and then transferred to Baylor University where I spent my last three years.
