Students will apply their knowledge of square roots and exponents to create their own clock. I wrote down the standards for 7th and 8th grades but I know that 6th and high schoolers can do this activity. It's a great welcome back activity. Note:

I left it as a word document in case you needed to make it easier (or harder) for your class. Borders are from another user. My students really enjoyed this! (7th grade, CCT classroom)

I love this quote from Stoker's classic Dracula. I think it really hits home with a lot of my students. My sympathy for my students will not change their home life, but hopefully, I can make it more bearable. Please review or rate!

This is a matching game (I use the word loosely) for students to master identifying what a graph of a particular inequality looks like before having to actually solve one- two- and multi- step inequalities.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Three years in a middle school setting, one year as a middle school & high school teacher. Currently teaching Algebra II Honors and AP Statistics.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style involves a lot of manipulatives to encourage student movement and a deeper conceptual understanding to improve overall fluency. I also believe that teaching more than more topic at once (for example, adding two negatives and adding a negative and a positive) will create a higher rate of student failure. A lot of my products are single topic and I will rarely post review sheets.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I've taught in high risk zones for potential drop outs. A lot of my work is modified and/or differentiated to accommodate IEPs or gaps in early educational math fluency.
