TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught kindergarten in a public elementary school in Louisville, KY for 5 years. I loved it, however my husband's job moved us to San Francisco, CA, therefore I had to find a new teaching job. I taught kindergarten in a charter school in Richmond, CA for a year and then moved to a private school in San Francisco, where I am currently teaching K-1. I am getting ready to start my 8th year of teaching.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use a combination of whole group, small group, and 1 on 1 instruction. My students learn how to work in groups or with partners, but they also know how to complete tasks independently. I like to combine traditional work with games and inquiry activities. This helps students learn how to answer questions on paper, but also allows them to be creative and talk to one another.
