TEACHING EXPERIENCE

During my career, I have taught in grades 3-8. I held a long-time role as a specialist in the gifted and talented department of Denver Public Schools, and I am currently a gifted teacher/specialist in a K-12 intercity public school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Because I am the gifted and talented specialist at a K-12 intercity public school, my lessons need to meet the needs of a wide variety of grade levels and ability levels. I have developed a wide variety of resources including specific novel lesson that focus on literary terms/devices, symbolism, vocabulary, and stages of a hero's journey. These novel lesson, presented in book club format, have been a great success with students receiving top reading assessment scores district wide!
