I have taught full time for over 12 years, and subbed for two before that. I designed our high school ELA curriculum almost from scratch, with the help of many dedicated people in my ISD. Teaching five diffeent grades each day has given me more experience in these 12 years than I would have received if I taught only one or two.
I try to be as constructivist and differentiated as I can possibly be. I also realize that some learners need different structure alongside the mainstreamed students in my classroom.
I was the first teacher in Ameica to require reading "The 9/11 Commission Report" in the classroom.
I graduated from Cheboygan Area High School in 1986 and went to NMU in Marquette, MI. I have a Bechelor's in Accounting and English, along with a Master's in Teaching from Marygrove College.
I a lovely wife and a young son.
