My first two years of teaching were spent in an open-concept, self-contained first grade classroom. The following year I moved up to second grade ELA. My last two years were in a self-contained second grade classroom.
I believe the primary grades are a chance for students to explore and learn about the world around them. In my classroom I like to create experiences for my students that facilitate learning curriculum but that also build social skills and cultural enrichment.
Nominated for Spotlight Teacher of the Year 2010

I am originally from Galveston, TX but have moved quite a bit during childhood. I have lived in Buffalo, NY, Canton, MI, Las Vegas, NV and am now currently living in St. George's, Grenada, West Indies. I love to travel and share experiences and culture with my students. I was a competitive gymnast and coached competitively during college. As an adult I love American football especially the Houston Texans! :)
