I was the Site Coordinator at a Title I K-5 Elementary School for four years as I was obtaining my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I taught second grade for three years and I was a K-5 Title I Reading Interventionist for one year. I have taught third and fourth grade summer reading camps and Kindergarten Summer Jump Start. This fall I will pursue graduate studies in the field of Curriculum and Instruction, which excites me to say that I have stepped back into the general education classroom as a Kindergarten teacher! I cannot wait to see all of the fabulous things that I will learn from my sweet Kindergarten Community.
I am a passionate educator who loves to teach and develop lessons that meet the needs of all learners. I specialize in teaching multi-sensory instruction with a holistic and creative twist. I take pride in creating engaging lessons that help all learners reach their highest potential.

I was born and raised in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina, where I developed a passion for teaching and learning. I believe that it is important to live life with a beginner's mind, but to also embrace your expertise and spread your knowledge everywhere you travel. Each day I find myself learning something new from my students and it is my goal to give back by teaching my students fulfilling lessons that can be carried throughout their lives. In May of 2011, I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career as a second grade teacher in which I taught for three years. I was then asked to become a title I K-5 reading interventionist for my school, which was an amazing opportunity because I was fortunate to work with all grades. As I enter my fifth year at Claxton Elementary School and my first year in graduate school, I am excited to say that I have decided to step back into the classroom as a Kindergarten Teacher! I cannot wait to see all of the fabulous things that I will learn from my sweet Kindergarten Community. As an educator and life-long learner, I am here to help children achieve goals and develop confidence. These young learners are our future. I believe in them, and I am dedicated in helping them succeed. When I am not teaching, I enjoy active hobbies, whether it be yoga, hiking, snowboarding or simply relaxing with a book in the sun! I also enjoy all forms of art, and I love crafting as well. I have a soft spot for animals and my dog goes almost everywhere with me! The teacher and learner in me honors the teacher and learner in you. Let the beauty you do be what you love!
