I have 12 years of teaching experience in every grade level from K-8, with the majority of time spent teaching the middle grades (4-8). Although I'm currently teaching 4th grade, I spent several years in fifth grade and in middle school reading. I've taught in various educational settings, including Title I schools, a charter school, a suburban school, and an international private school in the Middle East.
I love interdisciplinary activities and prefer to use rotations and small-group instruction whenever possible. Group work provides students with the opportunities to practice their social skills and problem-solving methods. While it can be a little chaotic at times, the students are actively involved in their education and are motivated to succeed. I am a huge proponent of reading and writing instruction in all content areas and differentiating instruction to meet student need. I also try to incorporate technology whenever possible so students can use their own skills and learn necessary proficiencies for the future.

I am returning to teaching after five years at home with my two boys. While I miss the time with my boys, I love the opportunity to practice my skills!
