I taught Spanish at the High School level for 7 years. After those 7 years, I decided that I'd like the opportunity to teach Spanish to a younger crowd. I decided to ask my children's preschool if they were interested in starting a Spanish program, to my delight, they were!! I taught there for 5 years and created a curriculum that includes poems, pictures, books and songs that teach Spanish in a fun and active way. After taking time off with our newest addition to our family, I decided to try teaching Spanish at the Elementary level. I now teach FLES in Arlington County, Virginia from Kindergarten to 3rd grade.
Children should have fun learning Spanish, and really anything for that matter! I love to sing, dance and move while teaching my students and I like them to do the same while learning. I use music, puppets, toys and books to capture my audience and keep the group engaged for the whole lesson!
