TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching in High Schools for the past 8 years developing and organizing curriculum that is beneficial for all types of students. I have mainly been teaching mathematics, focusing on Algebra, Geometry and Integrated levels. I have also taught a variety of Science courses such as Earth Science, Biology and Physical Science. Aside from these core classes I have developed and organized curriculum for High School exit exam prep courses.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have practiced the workshop teaching model that includes an opening (the beginning 5 minutes of a lesson where students enter the classroom and are presented immediately with a very short task review and reminding students of previous days materials or used to access prior knowledge), a mini lesson (next 15 minutes used to present an organized breakdown of notes, teaching students a few strategies on how to meet the days objective including rules or steps and a variety of examples) and a closing (the last 10 minutes of the period where students share out and correct answers)
