I have been teaching and loving it for over 18 years. I have taught preschool, kindergarten, and first, second, third, and fourth grades. I was also a Title I Reading teacher for three years and have experience as a reading tutor, summer school teacher, and after school reading intervention teacher. What can I say... I like to move around and try new things!
My teaching style includes giving my students fun, meaningful experiences while learning what we need to cover. Good lessons and activities will intrinsically motivate them to want to keep learning new things. I pay special attention to differentiation, in order to meet the needs of all of my students.
I was awarded Teacher of the Year at my previous elementary school. (My current district doesn't do this.) This year, I won the "Teacher's Making a Difference" Award in my current district.
I have my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-8) from The Ohio State University and my Master's Degree from the University of Dayton. I've attended many, many, many other classes, workshops, etc. to further my education in all subject areas after receiving my Master's Degree.
