I have been teaching math for 4 years at the middle school level (6-8) along with an enrichment class. Recently I decided to resign and stay at home with our three kids (6, 4 and 2 years old). During the last three years of teaching, our math department went through big changes and we created a whole new curriculum based on the CCSS for all three grades. It was a challenging and rewarding experience! Through the experience, we did not adopt books and created all of our resources which I look forward to sharing with you! Being able to stay at home with my kiddos, create fun, interactive and adaptable resources for your classroom along with making an income is something I am excited to begin on this new journey!
I enjoy a more interactive approach; station work, task cards, partner work, group work and anyway I can get my students moving and learning. I also enjoy using technology whenever I can add it to my lessons.
When watching my students grasp a concept they have struggled with and to see a smile on their face with that feeling of accomplishment - priceless. Makes all the hard times worth every bit of that!
Earned my BS in 2007 from Indiana University in Bloomington in Health Education. In 2009 I added my Middle School Math Endorsement from Indiana University in South Bend.
I look forward to sharing with you all that I have created with our new CCSS curriculum from the last year. Along with adding new and creative resources that you can share with your students.
