TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a teacher for the past 15+ years. I have taught in Texas as well as California. I have experience in public schools as well as private. I enjoy teaching and absolutely love watching students get that "aha" moment. It's the best feeling! I began my teaching career as a Special Education assistant, was offered a teaching position the following year and took it. I taught Special Eduction Language Arts for about 3 years then added a Math class as well as a pull-out program for students in History and Science. I moved to the high school level and added a Life-Skills class where I helped seniors in high school find a part time job and learn life long skills such as balancing check books, living on a budget and filling out job applications. Teaching is an amazing profession and one that I am proud to be involved in.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Hands on learning....focusing on student's learning styles.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been selected by my peers to be the Special Education Department Chair. I have served on the School Site Council as well as the PTA Board.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I was born and raised in Texas. We moved to California in 2003. I have 4 beautiful children.. 3 daughters and 1 son. They are truly the light of my life. I am also blessed to be married to my best friend.
