I have been an educator for the past 28 years. I have taught Pre-K , K-5, elementary grades 4,5 and middle school 6-8 subjects-English, History and Bible. I have been an educational therapist for the past 14 years and I work on a one to one basis with students who have mild learning deficits. I truly enjoy my work and have been blessed to be able to help many students throughout the last 28 years.
In my current position I am able to guide students through scaffolding techniques that allow them to discover and learn information which will make them life long learners. I enjoy teaching through classical literature and creating lesson plans, activities for books, interactive notebooks and bulletin boards.
My shining teaching moment is always when one of the students I am working with understand a difficult concept, or the student becomes a self advocate and transfers the learning from others to self. It is that moment when I see a glow in their face and a gleam in their eyes that suddenly flashes out from them. I have experienced many special moments in my teaching career and each time is as special as the last
