TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught Kindergarten through 3rd grade, am currently in special ed in a 2/3 split class. I was a teacher years ago, left education and have recently returned to my love of teaching.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strive to give my students opportunities to be independent learners, leaning heavily on multi-sensory teaching/learning and project-based learning.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am HQT in Reading and Special Education, K-12.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Ed. in 1988, and am on the last leg of my Master's in Special Ed, having only to do my Action Research Project, with a projected graduation date of May, 2013.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I'm a single mom looking to supplement the low pay I get in the charter school where I teach. I left teaching in the mid-90's, and returned 3 years ago with the work I have put in on my Master's. I found my calling in special ed., but I never approach special ed as anything different than simply teaching, so my activities work in a regular ed setting, too.
