TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I started my passion as a regular classroom teacher. Then, I taught Exceptional Children with mild to moderate disabilities. Several years and a couple of "forests" (EC has tons of paperwork) later, I returned to the regular classroom. I have taught Preschool, Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd and 5th grades as well as small EC groups from K-6.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Right now, my 2nd grade students learn best during small group instruction. I use a variety of strategies. My motto is "is it isn't working, then change it." I find that it is easy to get stuck in the same routine or hold onto what we have always used. However, learning takes place once you step or stick a toe outside your comfort zone. Your students benefit when you grow as an educator :)
