I started my teaching adventure in a public urban school Troy, NY. I began teaching 5th grade. Then, I moved down to 4th grade where I was for two years. A life change moved me across the country to Tucson, Arizona where I am currently teaching 4th grade. I will be in my 5th year of teaching this upcoming August 2017.
After having experienced a wide range of grades (including summer programs) I feel that my day to day teaching style varies on the ages and the certain needs of the students in front of me. One constant is that I strive for students to take ownership of their work, whatever that is. I do my best to have my students goal set and WANT to accomplish their goal. Sometimes the classroom looks a bit chaotic and messy but I find that most of the time, this is when the most authentic student work gets done!

I have a love/hate relationship with running. I have ran a handful of half marathons and am currently training to run a full marathon in January 2018.
