TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This fall will mark the start of my 6th year of teaching. In my years of teaching middle school, I've taught 6th and 7th grade ELA and 6th, 7th, and 8th grade social studies. I am currently teaching 7th grade World History and 8th grade South Carolina History. The awesome globe clipart in my badge and banner are from Digital Mojo! Check out her store to see more of her beautiful work!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strive to help my students make meaningful connections between the past and present in an engaging, hands-on, and project oriented way.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Southern Wesleyan University in 2012 with a B.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I became Middle Level Social Studies certified in 2015. I'm currently pursuing my Master's of Education in Teaching and Learning (Instructional Coaching) at Clemson University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

In no particular order, I enjoy monogrammed things, drinking coffee, hiking, reading, traveling, being outside in my hammock, baking, browsing Pinterest, and being crafty. I also have a slightly adventurous side! I went skydiving the summer after I graduated from college, and I’ve traveled to 34 states and 11 countries on three continents. I love bringing stories and lessons from my travels back to my students!
