TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught primarily college level Spanish since 2003. I am a balanced bilingual native speaker of both English and Spanish. I am a Sociolinguist, translator, interpreter, and university professor of Spanish. I have also taught Spanish and French at the high school level.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach communicative, real life, contextualized language. I firmly believe language learning should be usable and set in its real-life culture. I am a Socio-Linguist, so I teach from the intersection of society, language, and culture. I love current top 10 songs in Latin America, Miami, New York, and Los Angeles, and I convert the song lyrics into applied grammar worksheets. I usually host a "Latin Night" at a local Latin restaurant for my students, and those who are over 21 stay and dance salsa, merengue, and bachata with me. I love what I do and I have a great time doing it!
