Are you looking for a better assessment for DOL? I was tired of having the kiddos look for incorrections in sentences, so I made my own assessments. These DOL assessments are reproducible. You can print them blank and fill them in. I write the

This is a contract I constructed for my classroom. I left blanks for the areas you can type in your name and grade. With this contract, students are made to feel like adults when entering your room. When they decide not to follow a rule, just

This is a neat way to add some fun into a seating chart. Simply give each student a question, and the answer is at their new seat. I left this as a word document so you can add or change the questions. This makes finding their new seat an

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching full time for 10 years now. Two of those years were with 3rd and 4th, but I've had my 5th grade home for eight years. I was moved to Jr. High these last 4 years, and that's when 6th grade was shuffled into my mix. It is also when I narrowed my classes down to ELA.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I adjust my style every year. There is so much change in teaching that staying with the same style is suicide. I love having the kids teach each other, and I love interaction. I try to only lecture for about 10-15 min of the class period.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have received excellent qualifications according to my evaluations set by my superintendent. I am a one of the Teacher Leader Cadres in our school as well.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended and graduated from Collinsville High School. Then from there I achieved a soccer scholarship to McKendree College. I received my Bachelor Degree in Education in 2002. I went on to pursue my middle school endorsement that very next summer. Grade levels on my certificate to up to 9th grade.
