This is my 33 rd year teaching and is my sixth year as a k-12 RSP teacher at a charter school. So I wear many hats as the needs of the students and teachers vary so much. Just prior to this I worked as a K-5 RSP teacher at a title 1 school. Before that is was a general ed teacher for fifteen years in 8th, 5th and 3rd grades. I also spend many a night teaching at the local teacher college with my favorite class being lesson planning. Yep, love me a lesson plan.
Small groups! Even before my move to special education I practiced the effective yet insanely demanding routine of small group differentiated instruction. The long weekends of planning taught me to be efficient by empowering student to participate in their eduction. They became my partners and we walked through the year hand in hand discovering who they were, what they were best at and when they needed me to support them.
