TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Past 12 years I have had the joy of working as a K-5 RSP teacher at a title 1 school. The 5 years prior I was a 3rd grade teacher in a year round program. The 5 years prior to that I was on a 5th grade team. Before that I bounced around in high school and middle school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Small groups! Even before my move to special education I practiced the effective yet insanely demanding routine of small group differentiated instruction. The long weekends of planning taught me to be efficient by empowering student to participate in their eduction. They became my partners and we walked through the year hand in hand discovering who they were, what they were best at and when they needed me to support them.

I started writing stories when I was 7. But, my dad was a teacher and I wanted to grow up to be just like him. Now that I have developed into a teacher leader I am going to head into my 50's by embracing my dreams, my talents and the 21st. century.
