I've worked with children of all age levels between babysitting and tutoring, but have gotten my first taste of the classroom this academic year. I'm currently in a masters-plus-credential program and have been placed in the 3rd grade classroom. All of my students are at different reading and math levels, though, so I've been gaining experience teaching at the 2nd and even K content in their respective groups. Lately, I've been focusing on finding/making resources for my lowest performing student, as my DCT has never taught Kinder, so you might see a lot of those popping up in my store.
My current classroom has two students with ADHD, both impacted by other comorbidities, so I incorporate a lot of movement for them specifically. I'm still learning when to engage and when to shut them down (still getting the hand of redirecting their attention to the lessons), but I feel I'm generally soft but stern--and most importantly, I'm consistent. In general, I sing, I dance a little, and I try to make it as fun and interactive as possible!
