I have been an educator for 17 years. I taught 5 years in 1st grade and 10 years in kindergarten. I am currently working as a reading resource teacher.
I love teaching! Enthusiastic, fun and interactive lessons that engage students where they don't even know they are learning.

Hi! My name is Sheila Brusky. I taught first grade and kindergarten for 15 years specializing in reading. I created songs and cheers for numerous high frequency words recognizing that young children need to make a connection to the words through song and play. The songs and cheers act as a retrieval system so that when a child sees the word in text or writes it in a sentence singing the sight word song helps them remember the word and how to spell it. Many times my students remembered the words the very first day they were introduced. Simply begin humming a tune and the children will immediately remember how to read and spell the word! The children had so much fun with the sight word songs learning became effortless. Many of my sight word videos incorporate sign language in order to move information into long-term memory. I hope you enjoy my sight word videos and find them as useful tools in promoting reading and spelling success in your young learners.
