TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hi there! I have over 10 years of combined teaching experience as a classroom teacher and private tutor. I specialize in Mathematics, English, Special Education, and Music. I have taught students at all levels ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Here you will find some of my favourite resources. I hope you find them useful and helpful!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that every student can be successful and that as an educator it is my responsibility to not only deliver curriculum, but to build confidence, self-belief and motivation. I believe that students should understand why they are learning. Curriculum should be related to the real-world whenever possible. Students should be taught HOW to think and not WHAT to think. I always tell my students that it is ok to say "I don't know" if they are unsure, and in my experience, this has promoted more thinking and problem solving than giving up!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended the University of Windsor for the Concurrent Mathematics and Education (B. Math, B.Ed.) program and completed a minor in English Language and Literature. My university B.Ed.was focused in the Intermediate and Senior divisions, but I then completed the Junior Additional Basic Qualification. I have also completed the Special Education Part 1 Additional Qualification and the Royal Conservatory of Music program to Grade 8. I am also qualified to teach Kindergarten and Primary level PALS.
