Leslie graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education and a minor in Library Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1979. She earned her Master's in Library and Information Science Center in 2008 from the University of Texas, Denton. Valerie graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville 1981. Master's in Reading, University of Houston, 1990 and her librarian certification at University North Texas, Denton, in 2008.
Leslie lives in El Paso with her husband Paul and her two “kiddens” Purrsnickitty and Purrsimmony. She has two grown daughters, Brennyn and Lauren, and three young granddaughters, Cadence who lives in Ft. Worth and Lucia and Camila in El Paso. She retired six years ago but recently returned to work as a librarian substitute. And blogs at onceuponatimehappilyeverafter.com. Valerie lives in Houston with her husband Roby and together they have an Earthly son Trey, in the U.S. Army at Ft. Leonard Wood and a Heavenly son Andrew. Valerie, Roby and Trey lost Andrew to Wilm’s Tumor, cancer of the kidney, at age three. They work with Relay for Life to raise money for cancer research.
