I have been a third grade teacher for ten years, and I love eight-year-olds! They are so much fun to teach, and they make me laugh every single day.
I was talking to a sixth grade teacher at my school. He said, "Do you want to know what the kids say about you?" I hesitated, thinking that maybe I didn't want to know... You know how sixth graders can be mean, right? Finally, I said, "Okay, tell me. I can take it." He said, "Every year they tell me that you made learning fun." Whew! I must tell you that I was terribly relieved. Then I thought about it for a while. And I decided that it was the best compliment that I could receive. So that's my "style", I guess. To make learning fun =)
My past students come to visit often, with hugs (and sometimes cookies).
My degree is in Psychology. I've worked in the restaurant business, a mental hospital, and in banking. They are not as different as they might seem. Then I was a substitute teacher, which led to getting my teaching credential, and it's the best decision I've ever made!
My husband is a University Professor, and is working on his doctorate in Educational Technology. My three children are, of course, brilliant and beautiful. When I can pin any of them down long enough, I have them proofread my TpT stuff. So if you see mistakes, we'll just blame them, okay?
