Pam: Teaching needs to be relatable to the kids and allow for connection in all curricular areas. Language Arts should connect with social studies and science which can enhance math. I love to find ways to present these subjects in ways that maximize these connections and engage my students. Both of us are creative teachers who complement one another. Like gems, I polish the work until it shines and is valuable to my students. I hope that the same is true with my students – that with love and hard work – precious “Lil’ Gems” are created.
Pam earned her National Board credential in 2010 and was Teacher of the Year in 2001. In 2011, I became a trainer of Thinking Maps.
Pam earned her Bachelor’s Degree from UCLA and earned her multiple subject credential from Cal Poly Pomona. She also has a Master’s Degree in Psychology. In 2012 she became a Trainer for Thinking Maps.
Pam was born and raised in California as part of a family that put a very high value on education. She feels blessed to have raised two beautiful children, one who has graduated from UC Santa Barbara and the other studying at Cal State Fullerton. Being a newlywed, she has two stepdaughters- one entering college and the other entering her teens. Teaching is her true passion rather than just a job.
