My name is Emily Stolfus, and I am currently a 5th grade teacher at Boggy Creek Elementary in Kissimmee, Florida! My focus is ELA and Social Studies, and I LOVE finding ways to bring these fun subjects into my students' lives! I spent the 2017-18 school year as a 7th and 9th grade Geography teacher at Maru-a-Pula School in Gaborone, Botswana. Before that, I graduated from Kansas State University where I did my student teaching in a Kindergarten room. I've also spent time teaching ESL courses in Ecuador, Chile, and Mexico. While in college, I worked with the Boys and Girls Club and have various experiences with different after school programs. Needless to say, I enjoy working with students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities!
I prefer a constructivist approach to education and try to incorporate critical thinking and current events into my lessons as much as possible. For younger students, I enjoy incorporating a lot of play-based activities and wordless picture books!
