TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 30th year of teaching in Cobb County. I have taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades. For the past 2 years I have been a Math Coach for grades 3, 4, and 5.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that math must be interactive, and relevant whenever possible. Multiple strategies must be taught. Word problems are key to true understanding. Small group guided math groups encourage students to "talk math" and work cooperatively. Engaging and enjoyable lessons motivate students to challenge themselves as they develop important math concepts.
