TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Along with my private music practice, I am currently the director of the Nevada Opera Youth program. In years past, I developed and ran "Step to the Music," a program that used music as a basis to help develop language, sequencing, memory, self-esteem, as well as motor and musical skills. I have keynoted for the Kentucky Association for Children Under Six at both the local and state levels. Also, I have facilitated workshops for the National Montessori Conference, Waldorf School, The Reno Association for the Education of Young Children, and the California Chapter of the National Music Therapy Association. I have taught music in the Marin County, Tahoe-Truckee, and Washoe County School districts. In addition, I have been the music director for productions including Music Man, Godspell, and Carnival. One of my greatest achievements is creating and running "Hop Through History" for the better part of the last two decades.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Though my experiences with music, education and music therapy, I truly have a unique approach to my teaching structure. Some of the basics in would the extended use of kinethetic, auditory, and visual cues.
