TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught first grade for one year and second grade for two years in Phoenix, AZ. I recently moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL where I will be teaching second grade in a Title I charter school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a huge advocate for discovery-based learning. I believe the more students are DOING, the more they are learning. I do not believe teachers can teach every child in the exact same way and be successful. Teachers must be flexible and willing to adapt their instruction to support each child's individual needs.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I earned the highest chapter GPA in my sorority during my junior and senior year of college. I graduated Summa Cum Laude both in my undergraduate and graduate programs.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Arizona State University in 2009 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Structured English Immersion (SEI/ESOL). I recently graduated from ASU again with my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an endorsement in Reading Instruction.
