TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have had vast experience teaching. I began my teaching career teaching middle school in rural, urban, and suburban schools. I am currently teaching second grade! What a major change of pace from the older children, but each age group are unique in their own ways and teach me new things about my teaching style on a daily basis.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I love to teach because I find joy in making learning fun for students. While that might sound cliché, it is a task that takes time, patience, and a mere love for children! I am creative and am enthusiastic about thinking of and creating games and activities that I can use in my classroom to make learning feel less tedious and more enjoyable and worthwhile. I like to start my lessons or units by having my children talk about why what they are about to learn is important to their daily lives outside of school. When students see a purpose and value in something, they will more than likely own what they are about to learn and find joy in it.
