I've taught classes at the college and undergraduate level, but my material here is appropriate for anyone studying Shakespeare for the first time.
Powerpoint presentations with text and visual annotations (images and gifs). I don't place emphasis on themes, motifs, or symbols, although undoubtedly you will see all these elements at play. My focus is on helping students read Shakespeare as they would enjoy any other author.
I've received a couple awards for my poetry. If you're curious, you can check out my collection here: http://amzn.to/2oEU1UB

I remember reading three of Shakespeare's plays in high school – Julius Caesar, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Much Ado About Nothing – and feeling overwhelmed by the complexity of the language. But I also discovered a great pleasure in Shakespeare's work that seemed unrivaled by any other author I encountered. I hope that I can share that pleasure with you, and make it your own, through my teaching.
