I have been a teacher for 12 years; 8 years in second grade, 3 years in first grade, and currently I teach kindergarten. I have my masters degree in reading and am passionate about literacy. I have moved down throughout the years because one of my biggest priorities as a teacher is to be the best literacy teacher for my students. I know that my time teaching in multiple grade levels has helped me see the big picture and have a better understanding of how kids truly learn to read and write. I know where kids need to be going, and that knowledge helps me better plan instruction to get my students where the need to be. I believe that teachers need to be life-long learners and avid readers and writers. I am constantly learning about myself as a reader and writer and share myself with my students to engage them in learning.

I did my undergrad work at the University of Wisconsin in Madison (LOVE my Badgers)! I earned my masters degree at the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh.
I am a mother of two energetic and happy boys. They have taught me the most about life and my husband and I are blessed to have them in our life. Teaching is my passion and I feel lucky to have my educational background to help me in my role as a mother, as well as an elementary teacher. Kids are truly gifts and deserve our best. I love sharing ideas so we all don't have to recreate the wheel and can spend our time doing what is most important...building relationships with those that are most important to us.
