TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching English and Journalism since 1987-88 and have written pages upon pages of curriculum during my career. Classes I have taught include Basic English (Grades 9-12), English 9, English 10, College Prep English 9, College Prep English 10, Journalism, Yearbook, Newspaper, Video Production, Web Design, Graphic Design, Photography, ACT Prep, Credit Recovery (English) and Dual Credit Public Speaking.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have experimented with different styles over the years, but I usually always come back to a student-centered approach where I do very little lecturing and tend to facilitate in a small group or one-on-one fashion. I stress to my students that school is about more than just grades and playing the game. It's about LEARNING...truly LEARNING!
