I have a different approach than many younger teachers. I am a very structured teacher with extremely high expectations from my students both in the field of academics and behavior. I love that I develop deep relationships with my students which carries on past the present teaching year into their future educational endeavors. I have many students who keep in touch with me for educational and emotional support.

I attended college for the first time at the age of 38 to finally fulfill my lifelong dream of teaching. I have held numerous positions in the workforce including: A tour of duty in the United States Marine Corp, 13 years at the US Postal Service, Supervisor at a high-risk insurance company, small business owner of a highly profitable awards shop, UPS to work my way through college, and other various part-time positions throughout the years including Youth Director at my church, developing and managing 2 community soccer leagues, and watching my children play sports beginning at age 3 until they graduated high school. My children are the 2 most beautiful, intelligent, precious children in the world: Christina-age 30 and Aaron-age 25. I also married Mark 7 1/2 years ago. He is a fabulous husband who cares more than I ever thought anyone could! My parents help me in my classroom and my students have fallen in love with them. They love to read for them and I think they consider them "their grandparents".
