TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently a first grade teacher, focusing on RtI within a general education setting. My background is in elementary education with a specific focus on students with learning disabilities. I like to use drama and the arts to reach students and hope to share some of my scripts and other artsy ideas here.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Arts Integrated, Cross-curricular, Differentiated

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been awarded several grants for special education and arts integrated learning.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a B.S. in education from Kent State University with a focus on fine arts. I also studied special education at the University of Findlay.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have directed, written and produced several children's productions at my school, church and through an arts council in Ohio. One of my most rewarding jobs was serving as a liason for the Kennedy Center's Partners in Education program. In this capacity I was able to see how the arts can reach even the most "troubled" youth.
