TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a junior high/middle school ELA teacher for twenty-eight years. I have both a B.A. and M.A. in ELA instruction. I have extensive coursework in gifted and talented education and have taught gifted students for two decades. I am a department chair, have been a team leader, and have served on corporation writing and literacy committees.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I very much support that idea that I am a learning facilitator. I give students the tools and knowledge, and they take it from there. I believe that students should often have choices in how they show they have learned material.
