TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught first grade for 30 exciting years! Creating educational materials has been so much fun and I'm thrilled to be able to share them with other teachers here on TPT!! I specialize in smart board lessons, writing lessons for beginning writers and a variety of other products for the k-2 teacher! I hope these materials will provide teachers with useful resources for their primary classrooms.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I want my students be excited to learn new things and using technology really helps me engage them in learning! My classroom is a busy, busy place! My students are encouraged to take risks and to make mistakes! When a student makes a mistake and learns something new, I always say "WOW, we just watched you get smarter!" I hope they will always feel safe enough to take risks and learn something new!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor's Degree from Bowling Green State University Master's Degree from Heidelberg College

I have taught first grade for 30 years and I still have fun every day! I love using technology to excite and engage my students in my lessons. My SmartBoard would have to be my favorite tool in my classroom. The children LOVE using "Smartie" and I LOVE creating exciting lessons with the Smart Notebook software. I've also created a writing program, Write My Way... lessons for beginning writers, and I'm excited to be able to share it with other teachers through TPT! I am also addicted to photography and photoshop! If I'm not working on educational materials, you can find me taking and editing photographs!
