TEACHING EXPERIENCE

1 year as 2nd grade teacher 4 years as kindergarten teacher 14 years as 1st grade teacher

MY TEACHING STYLE

We use a phonics based curriculum at my school. I love to add units for holidays and seasons that include smartboard lessons, videos, art projects, writing prompts, and of course a snack to wrap up the unit.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I teach at a small private school. We do not recognize one particular teacher as outstanding. We share our gifts and talents with each other. However, I was once nominated for Disney's teacher of the year. I am a Certified SMART Exemplary Educator

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Texas A&M University (bachelor's degrees)

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have always felt God called me to be a teacher. I have two grown children. One married, one a senior at Texas A&M University. My husband and family have always supported my passion for teaching and my husband has graciously allowed me to spend thousands of dollars on my students over the years. I enjoy spending time riding horses with my family, and traveling to see my brother and son. I love visiting historical sites across the country.
