For the past three years I have been lucky enough to work in one of the best charter schools in Texas. I work with primarily disadvantaged youth or students who just want to skip ahead and get high school over with (I totally understand). I teach 10th, 11th and 12th grade students and am the English Dept. head at my campus.
I like my students to be active participants in their own learning. I do not believe in lecturing my students for an hour and allowing them to passively absorb information like some kind of meat sponge. Learning should be engaging, active, and an experience. I like to tell my student's how it is. Kids appreciate brutal honesty, even when it works against them.

I grew up in a family of makers. My mother is a painter, my father a wood worker, my brother a drawing major, and my spouse a graphic artist. Drawing is a daily part of my life that I would like to share with you!
