TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently in my sixth year as a secondary English teacher. I taught 7th grade for four years, and then I switched to 9th grade. I have also taught a Creative Writing elective for high school students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a young millennial teacher who loves using technology and modern texts in my class. However, I don't turn up my nose at the classics. I try to instill in my students a passion for reading and writing, as well as a deep understanding of the power of language.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated magna cum laude from Indiana State University with a bachelor of arts degree in English Education. I'm in my last semester of grad school, so I will soon have my Masters of Education degree as well.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I graduated high school from the same school where I now teach, so I actually work with a lot of my former teachers, which is pretty fun (and a little weird). I love everything to do with Harry Potter, and any of my students will be able to tell you that the series is my greatest love and passion. I also coach volleyball and am very passionate about it.
