TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught in Chandler, Arizona for 5 years in Kindergarten and First Grade. In the summer of 2012 I moved to Denver, Colorado and had the opportunities of teaching Kindergarten in Georgetown, Colorado a tiny mountain community, a Waldorf inspired school and finally at Cherry Creek Academy in Englewood, Colorado. I moved to San Diego this past June and currently a Kindergarten teachers at California State San Marcos.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is designed to promote creativity, higher level thinking, and individual potential using cooperation and collaboration as a base. Our classroom is a happy place where we have respect for each other, and for all living creatures. My focus is to provide a safe, happy environment in which young children can explore their world and influence their own learning with rich oral expression, purposeful experiences and strong social connections to their peers and teachers. I strive to ensure my students are happy and enjoy learning; each challenged in their own way. I take great pride in instilling the life-long love for learning and can’t imagine my life without the laughter and noise of children.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I quickly returned to ASU in 2006 and earned my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasize in Early Childhood Development and have been in love with education ever since.
